EMU Poster Prize 2009

Melanié Rondeux

The 25th meeting of the European Crystallographic Association (ECM25) took place in Istanbul, Turkey, August 16-21, 2009.

The EMU Poster Prize was awarded to Melanié Rondeux from the Laboratory of Mineralogy, University of Liège, Belgium, for her contribution “Crystal chemistry of the divalent cations in solid-state synthesized fillowite-type phosphates.”

Fillowites are complex Na-Ca-Fe-Mn phosphates occurring frequently in granitic pegmatites, metamorphic rocks and meteorites. New syntheses experiments and multiple investigations give insight in the stability fields, homogeneity, substitution mechanisms, and crystal chemistry of some new compounds belonging to this structure type.

Congratulation to this impressing researcher !
